Spider-Man Remastered came with a big overhaul of the game’s engine to support the PlayStation 5. Man… times have really changed, haven’t they?
Most recently this has included excellent PC native versions of Deus Ex: Human Revolution and its sequel, the rebooted Tomb Raider series, and Marvel’s Avengers. The port is being handled by Nixxes, who were acquired by Sony in early 2021. Nixxes are best known for their work as a porting house, most commonly working with Square Enix on the PC versions of their European games. No, they’re porting the game’s remaster that was enhanced for the launch for the PS5, which arrived as part of the deluxe release of the Spider-Man: Miles Morales interquel.
That’s not the version of the game that is being ported to PC, though.

Go to and make a backup of the movies folder. If you are using a 16:9 aspect ratio, you can download modified cutscene files that are stretched properly for 16:9 aspect ratios to watch the cutscenes in-game without any distortion. Now as long as DxWnd is running when you launch the game, the cutscenes should be visible and stretched to your screen, though they will still be stretched out if you have the game set to run in any aspect ratio besides 4:3. In the Video tab, set Window style to default, Window size & position to Anchored, and Screen resolution to Native. In the same Main tab, make sure under Generic, Fullscreen only is checked, and under Position, Desktop center is selected. Run dxwnd.exe and go to Edit-> Add, then in the Main tab, type in a Name, and for Path browse to and select \SpiderMan.exe. You can also set the Filtering option here if you want to force anisotropic filtering. Under the DirectX tab, set the Resolution to the resolution you intend to run the game with, and uncheck the "dgVoodoo Watermark" option. Under the General tab, set the Appearance to Fullscreen and Scaling mode to Stretched, keep Aspect Ratio. You may want to make a separate profile for the game (hit the Add button at the top of the window, and select the folder, which you copied the DLL files into). Copy the DLL files from the MS/x86 folder to, where SpiderMan.exe is located.
